Just test drove the 2007 Yaris......

I only drove it about 3 miles but wow it drove nice. I'm about to buy it but needed some advice first. I dont know too much about cars or how they are priced at dealerships.
The sticker price for the car is $15,500 including the power package. Anyone of you know how much this car is marked up? I really want to know before I negotiate tomorrow. I really appreciate any help. Cheers.

Re: Just test drove the 2007 Yaris......

I just bought one a week ago.

Base sedan model, automatic, and option C on their website (but I didn't get the 15" tires so mine was a tad less). I paid $15000--basically MSRP since I didn't get the bigger tires.

My city only has 200,000 people in it, though, so we don't have a lot of car dealerships; there is very little haggling able to be done where I live because there is no competition among dealers selling the same brand of car (ie: one ford dealer, one chevy, one toyota, etc.). Depending on where you live, you might get one a bit lower, but just note that it will be more difficult because its a fairly popular car and dealers really don't like to budge on the car they're making the least profit on already.

WOW, I didn't even notice how long ago that post was; this section of the forum doesn't get a lot of action does it

Hell, I just had a guy post in the Nonspecific forum asking why we don't have a Yaris subforum. I'm worried about you guys....

Re: Just test drove the 2007 Yaris......

I purchased a 2007 Toyota Yaris in 08/2006. I love it. No problems after 6000 miles. Great gas mileage too! Running about 38-40 miles per gallon. I paid $16,975.00 for the Yaris Sedan with electric package in Springfield,Mo. It was well worth the money considering the way gas prices keep going up. Best pruchase I've made yet. Matthew Boisse at Reliable Toyota is a trust worthy sales guy if you purchase from Reliable Toyota. Sunshine & 65 in Springfield. Good Luck on your purchase

Well I'm still working on breaking it in for the gas mileage on mine. I only drive in town and this is my first tank so I'm at 240 miles with 3 bars left on the fuel. It's nice not having to fill up once a week

don't trust the digital meter.
i've seen 350+ miles on a full tank of 97octane before one week and only 300 the next.

Re: Just test drove the 2007 Yaris......

The economy lower priced vehicles don't have a lot of mark up in them so my guess is $1,500. over invoice. The hybrids are marked up but they're in demand but for some reason the Yaris didn't sell a lot. I found a dealer with some 05's & 06's left and trying to negotiate a deal on the economy el-cheapo base model hatchback with auto tranny. I've read a lot of customer reviews and 95% of them are favorable & pleased with the great gas mileage. http://www.edmunds.com/toyota/yaris/...rreview.1.html
