Rim Opinions

Hey guys, long time no post. Money has been tight and my car has been on the back burner.

Anyways, I'm after a new set of wheels if I can find somebody to buy mine. What you guys think?

Black with the machined face, or gunmetal?

(by the way I have an ICW hookup so i get deep discounts on an already low priced wheel, thats why I'm after ICW)

Side note: got me a set of sideskirts for 20 bucks runaround so thats coming as soon as I can get some extra cash!

Re: Rim Opinions

I like both, but the polished face maybe look a little funny on a silver car.

Re: Rim Opinions

I would get gunmetal, thats what I have on my car (granted my car is red) but I think gunmetal looks sweet on eclipes in general

Re: Rim Opinions

Do a 5 to 10 spoke wheel with either a gunmetal or black face and a machined or polished lip, it will look amazing!! I personaly don't think flat faced wheels with no lip look very good on eclipses. If money is the issue, you've got to trust me on this one, Save Save Save!!! Wheels are probably the most noticable mod you can do on your car, so do it right and make it look sick!! Also if you do it, make sure you do 18's, trust me the difference between the look of 17s and 18s is huge.

This is right before I lowered it about 1.5 inches.

But if you insist on getting those wheels I would do the silver. I say that because you always want to have a color close to your car somewhere in your wheels, it helps make the wheels more noticable as aftermarket. The gunmetal will look to plain because the whole thing is just gunmetal (it may get mistaked for a steelie).

Yeah, drunk friends + door = missing handle

I'm in the process of having the whole car painted now, including my missing handle

Re: Rim Opinions

I like those wheels quite a bit. Black w/machined outside look best in my head on a silver car.

Re: Rim Opinions

What is the bolt pattern for a '98 RS? Is 100 or 114.3? Is there an offset I should keep in mind when looking for wheels?

Re: Rim Opinions

Re: Rim Opinions

Well since we are posting pics of gunmetal rims I thought I would throw mine in also.

First off thanks for all the replies.

Secondly, on the 2gb I like 17 inch wheels, however I do think that darker wheels look smaller and would bump up to 18s if I got something dark. At one point i had a set of wheels ordered that looked like knock offs of theses racing harts. But they ended up sending the wrong wheel (pic at bottom) and not having the ones I wanted any more.

Third, what kind of wheels are those and what did they run you?

Lastly, any more pics of silver 2gb's with wheels on them would be awesome. I may end up leaving the white ones on there until i get another car and just save up, but I'm just going with the flow at the moment

Edit: forgot my pic

Didn't like these because they had too many spokes
