Ignition!?

How comes that a lot of people with just some basic bolt-ons are using aftermarket ignition systems on their Hondas/ Acuras?? I mean most people say that an aftermarket ignition system is useless when the engine isnīt "heavily" modified (f.e. turbo, FI,...) but still a lot of people are using them. Do they know that it wonīt give them any extra horses and they just expect it to do anything else? (Hope you got my point!? Itīs late already... )

there isn't a huge difference when switching to aftermarket ignition. ie, msd, etc. ignitions help smooth out your idle, give you a more complete burn, in turn saving a lil on gas, since you burn fuel more efficiently. at high rpms, the stock ignition, sometimes can't keep up because it is too weak. so theres where the ignition comes into play more, when at wot, your ignition could not have all the spark energy to jump the gap on the sparkplugs causing misfire. it will help if you race the car alot, otherwise, no need to replace if you don't.

alot of people dont realize, it doesnt make much difference in hp.
if i get one, its just gonna be for the rev limiter.

some people get them for the rev limiter capabailities, but most kids buy it cuz it's only about $150-200, in comparison to a worthwhile mod like cams that can cost upwards of $600.

essentially, they cant afford a worthwhile mod.
