Can a OEM Navigation radio be installed on a 2002 ltz

I have 2002 Trailblazer 2002 LTZ with the Premium Bose Sound system and was wondering if anyone can offer any help or advice on installing a GM navigation radio into my car. I would like to know if I would lose any features or if I need to do anything to prep it for installation. Thanks in advance for any advice given

If I Had A Bose System In My Tb, I Would Leave It Alone And Buy A After Market Navigation System. I Think A Gm Navigations System / Sound System Would Replace Your Bose System. To Me Great Sound Would Be Better Than A Road Map. I Plan Trips At Home With Map Quest.

I guess you are right, but for some reason I like the oem navigation I know I would be giving up the 6 disc changer but gaining the screen. Thanks for the advice

The switch should be able to be done without any modifications, as all years use the class 2 bus. GM did change the radios for 03 and then again for 05, but they should all still be compatible. Your best bet would be to get one for an Escalade (it should be the same unit as the 05-06 TB, though maybe slight graphic interface differences), as they are specifically set up to handle an outside 6-disc changer. Then get the changer and put it somewhere in your car.

Wait, do not buy a Nav unit as they will not work with 02 year TB/Voys. They only work in 04+ years (I think in 03 as well, but I know for a fact 04+ works) as the 02 (and maybe 03) models have a different Bose amp that is NOT compatible with the Bose Nav system. Please, do not waste your hard earned money on a Nav system that wont work, go aftermarket or stick with what you have.

Buy a portable GPS receiver with a big, color screen. You can use it in the TB, another car, your bicycle, boat, hiking, etc. Take up geocaching. Take it on trips for use in a rental car (real handy in a strange city). You can bring it inside for trip planning and route creation, or reviewing your travel for expense reports, in comfort.

You can add an XM receiver to the new Garmins for real-time weather and traffic -- all for less than GM's in-dash nav system.

No, the OEM GM NAV system GM puts in the 04+ TBs cannot be installed in 02-03 TBs due to something with the Class II bus (I know the 02 is different from the 03 bus, believe me Im not happy about it). 04+ and you can install a oem NAV easily, just swap HUs, run the NAV antenna, and youre off! Have to have Bose for a Nav system though.

Escalade unit into a Trailblazer

My friend gave me his navigation unit out of his 2004 Escalade. I'm putting it in my 2005 Trailblazer. I have already connected it, and it looks like it's going to work I just need to get the TheftLock off of it and have it married to my vehicle. After I do this, should the navigation unit work? Does anyone see a reason why a 2004 Nav unit out of a Escalade wouldn't work in a 2005 Trailblazer? I just want to make sure it should work, before I pay GM to connect the unit to the Tech2 machine and synch it to my vehicle.
