Immediate Help!

I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Cierra Cutlass SL. I let my friend borrow my car and now im having issues. What is happening is that when i push down on the gas instead of automatically shifting the way that an automatic is supposed to do it stays in that gear...and IF it decides to shift it will jerk then run smooth. But if I stop at a red light or if i have to slow down....it starts this process all over again and it wont seem to shift to that next gear.... I did notice that something is leaking so I put down a t-shirt. I dont think it's transmission fluid because that would be red... nor coolant because that's green. When I wiped the ground with the t-shirt it was brown...like oil almost and it was leaking close to the drivers side front wheel...like right behind it. Anyone have ANY idea what this is?
