91 Lumina euro 3.1

As the title says I have a 91 Lumina Euro, with a 3.1 engine. When it warms up it starts bucking and eventually stalls out. I can start it right back up and it will idle just fine, but if I put it in gear and give it gas, it dies right away.

The only code it's putting out is a 34 which is a Map sensor error, book says to replace it which I plan on doing tommorow. This is going to be the 2nd Map sensor I've put in it, and I have a feeling that it's not going to fix it.

I've put alot of work into this car so far, and any help to figure out this problem would be appricated.

Re: 91 Lumina euro 3.1

code 34: MAP sensor voltage was too low for 1 second when engine speed was under 600 RPM, or MAP sensor voltage was too low for 1 second when engine speed was over 600 RPM and throttle angle was above 20%.

First, I would check the vacuum line that runs under the upper plenum to the MAP for cracks/leaks.

Last, since this code depends on a signal from the TPS regarding throttle position, if your TPS has a bad/flat spot, that could also trip this code.

Replaced the TPS and the vacuum lines (Found a small hole in one), car ran great for about 10 miles. Car died right before I hit a major road (thankfully), Still putting out a 34 error code.

Any more help would be appricated.

I assume you've cleared this code after doing the repair and it came back yet again?
