How do I change the antenna on a 99 GST Spyder?
The telescoping antenna broke off at the base. I tried taking pliers and turning out the piece that is left, but it just spun. So I bought a new antenna that is threaded in place, but how do I remove the old antenna base so I can install the new base and mast?

Hey there. Are you the real KitsuneZero? Anywho,
Is there a piece around the base of the antenna that you might be able to remove? If possible, are you able to get any pictures? |

You need to get into the trunk area and pull out the interior piece right there underneath that side. Once you get it off you can look up there and see that a giant nut looking thing is threaded on there. I can't remember if pliers were able to get around it or not. I may have used a pair of channel locks on it. Anywho... Just unthread it and then unplug the antenna cable from it and the whole thing will come out from the top. Then you can just replace whichever pieces you need to.

Stupid ass automatic antennaes. For the last few months I've been meaning to disconnect the wire going to it, that way its up all the time and theres no need to worry about it going out.
