Re: hi - airbag light

its likely a fault somewhere...unless the car was in a fender-bender and the airbag was never replaced. Im not sure but i dont think air bag is covered by OBD2...i may very well be wrong but my air bag light was on in my old car and i got no codes either.

Re: hi - airbag light

First thing would be to check the fuse for the system, it is in the passenger side fuse block, I cant remember the labeling, and I dont have my car at the moment. Its either labeled as Air bag, or something to do with the SRS system, or perhaps another 3 letter abbreviation.

I think it requires a tech II or equivalent scanner to diagnose the ABS system as well, so a trip to the dealership for a little scan-a-roo may be in order, a good mechanic can do it too.

Re: hi - airbag light

thanx for the responses - ive been kinda busy lately so i couldnt respond in kind.

i checked the fuse and switched it with a new one and the light was still on so i guess thats not it. its possible that my car gets bumped a lot by parallel parkers (i drive in brooklyn, ny a lot and thats how ppl know how far to go when they park). one of these days ill have to take it to a mechanic and get it checked out. thanx!
