Exclamation Yellow Warning Light 84 733i

The yellow warning light comes on while driving, the fluids are fine. It has always come on when I started the car then went out when I put it in gear. It doesn't do it all the time. I am not an erratic driver, always the same speed, etc, very laid back. Any ideas before I break down and take it in?

This warning light comes on each and every time you start your car. Once you step on the brake pedal it will automatically turn off. It is a startup test for your brake lights.

warning light

Sometimes it stays on, not sure why. It just doesn't go out. I will check the brake lights. Thank you much.

When the yellow flashing light comes on, check the panel on the lower left with the red lights. See which red light is on when the yellow warning light is flashing. It could be something as simple as you need more window washer fluid. OR as bad as TWO quarts low on oil.

Thank you very much. You have put two and two together for me. It says brake lights on the panel. Can't wait to fix it now. You are great.
