Hot front brakes.
Greetings again,
Okay, I have changed the front brake calipers and pads and replaced the passenger side hub (pressed in kind) on my 90 2.5L. My front wheels still get excessively hot driving around town. The rears are not hot at all. I havn't pulled the rear wheels off yet, but if the rear pads are shot would the front wheels get super hot from doing all of the work?. Last month I posted that the front passenger side got so hot it melted the plastic hub. I replaced everything I thought may be the problem on the front. Thanks in advance, cowpie |

Re: Hot front brakes.
First the brakes will get very hot. It takes as much heat to stop the car as the engine makes to get it going. Second if the rear brakes are not working the front has to do more and get hotter.

Re: Hot front brakes.
cowpie again,
Bet you guys are getting tired of me . Checked the rear brakes and they are fine. Just seems to me that the front brakes are excessively hotter then they should be. Hot enough to melt the hubcap prior to calipers, pads and passenger hup replacement. Especially when the rears are so cool. Don't recall any car I have had in the past this hot. I am without options so any input would be appreciated. My "Thanks" for input I have had so far.cowpie |

Re: Hot front brakes.
Hot is relitive. I have burned my hand on rotors after a few short stops. Get a infared temp gun and measure the temp.
