2 questions
my mom has a 00 or 01 Deville with the pearl white paint job. She scraped a wall with the back lower part of the rear bumper where the plastic is - the first question is do I need to put a plastic primer on it first ? I have the 2 cans of paint they said I needed - is the bottom layer like a primer ?
The second question is a curiosity - not long ater starting the car and getting it going, there's a pump that comes on for about 10-15 sec, it sounds like it's coming from the back seat or trunk. What the heck is it ? |

Re: 2 questions
Go here www.paintscratch.com and read the FAQ. Lots of good info on the paint question.
The sound is the compressor for the rear air shocks. 10 or 15 seconds sounds long, though. Mine is on for 3 or 4. I guess if it shuts off finally and the ride height is OK, then you are good to go. |

Re: 2 questions
well, I already have the paint .... it came in 2 cans, looks pretty professional to me. It's not a "scratch", it's a spot like 3" x 4" or so - so it had to be a spray can type thing.
I was just guessing on the pump, it may only be more like 5 sec, I don't drive it that much. |
