bye, bye Jeep...

Well the time has come to get rid of the Jeep... Transfer case needs to be replaced and it just turned 75k so I'm sure other problems to come...

Anyways, as of about an hour ago I traded it in for an 07 Ford F-150... The truck comes with tow package, power windows, cruise control, ac, cd player and it is a super cab so it has 4 opening doors. I got the one with the 4.6 V8... I know I should have gotten the 5.4 but to be honest it wasnt in my budget...

The truck is white and has some UGLY-ASS grey wheels on it... Tinted windows, bedliner, and rims are a must on it... I will get some pictures of it up by the end of the day today. Also be looking for my last kill story in the Jeep to be coming soon...

The Jeep had everything from leather to sunroof to heated/power seats to 4X4, but it didnt have what a full size truck has... Pulling power and a bed for whatever...

Jolly Green will be missed....

Re: bye, bye Jeep...

Jeep had a 20.5 gallon tank and the Ford has a 27 gallon tank but I really expect to see the same or better gas mileage than what the Jeep got... The truck isnt 4X4 so I figure after break in time I should get 20-25 highway...Plus I wont be driving the truck like I drove the Jeep. So my foot wont be as heavy...I averaged 21-25 highway in the Jeep after I did my exhaust and got the FIPK. I really did see a dif. in mpg...

As far as towing. I am getting a pop-up camper at the beginning of the year. I'm sure it will be pretty light and the Jeep would have towed it but it didnt have the tow package. I ended up putting on a hidden hitch receiver and wiring harness but it didnt have a transmission cooler. The truck came with all that and 3.55 gears. I hope its worth the extra money.

I did get it at a good deal though so its not overly expensive. I paid 18900 for it brand new...

Re: bye, bye Jeep...

My Jeep got it all day long.... My friend has the F150 with the 4.6 but his is 4X4 and he get 16-17 on highway. I'm just hoping I guess, the real truth will be told on the road. How many miles does it take for a vehical to get broke in to where you can get your mpg fairly accurate?

Sucks that you had to get rid of a car that you've had for a while and had some good times in, but you will not regret getting a pickup, having a bed for whatever is awesome. Guaranteed you won't regret that, not sure if you will get that great gas mileage, but I don't know firsthand, so best of luck on that.
