Front end wobble noise
I have a 2005 Taurus with 52,000 miles. It started making a funny wobble noise in the front end when I hit about 30 to 40 mph. It gets louder when I turn right and goes away when I turn left. I thought it might be an unbalanced or bad tire until yesterday when I purchased 4 new tires and it did not help. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

Re: Front end wobble noise
Welcome to the forum!
Sounds like you probably have a bad wheel bearing. It would likely be the left (as you are sitting in the car) front wheel bearing since, during a right turnn more of the load would transition to the left front wheel. If the wheel bearing is ruled out, then you probably have a bad outer CV joint, but it would be difficult to determine on description rather than hearing the sound which outer CV joint could be the problem. I'm ruling out a loose wheel since you had new tires installed. Chances the wheels would be loose before and after the tire change is pretty low. -Rod |
