Unhappy 2000 Z24 check engine light

I have a 2000 chevy cavalier Z24 and the problem i have is that the check engine light went out the day i bought it and has never came on again. Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so.....how was that fixed??

I was told that i would need the whole unit where the lights come on and the speedometer and everything else is costing me almost 700 dollars. And i have already spent about 1000 fixing it for emissions....

Re: 2000 Z24 check engine light

If you do need a new gauge cluster, just go to a junkyard and get one out of any 00+ cav or sunfire. Going to dealerships and ordering a new cluster is just dumb and extremly expensive.
