Knocking/rattle from front suspension
My 2004 Ranger has developed a rattle/knocking sound from the front end at low speeds when hitting relatively small bumps in the road. The sound seems to disappear at highway speeds. The shocks appear to be okay and the steering seems to work fine. Any thoughts on what I should be looking at? I believe the regular maintenance schedule calls for routine bolt tightening, which maybe needs to done.

Re: Knocking/rattle from front suspension
Sounds like a ball joint may have some play in it. I would check the rubber bushings for play. Just an idea, good luck.
