shifting problems

Hello,
I have a 1988 jeep cherokee cheif with an automatic transmission. i am having a problem with the shifting. It wont shift into 2nd until i reach 35mph. it will not go into 3rd until i reach 65 miles per hour. dont know about overdrive. can anyone give me any sugestions on how to fix and get my jeep shifting normal.

One thing you can check would be the MAP sensor, if it is bad or the vacuum line to it is clogged it can cause this. I would test it using the procedures found on the autozone web sites.
