Short shifters

Are the $20 short shifters on ebay any good? If not what are some good ones?

I know fishcat37 has one in his crx (which he might have sold by now, who knows) but one of the key things to remember when getting a short shifter is to get some bushings also cause your stock ones are probably really worn.

I got a dc sports on mine and it works pretty well. If you gonna get a short shifter go with dc, skunk 2 or b & m.

anyone hear anything about Neuspeed Short Shifters? I'm thinking about getting one because I know a place I can get it for about 30 bucks cheaper than anyother place I have seen.

I have a Hurst, it's awesome, I like the fact that a Shelby Cobra, GTO, TA66 Trans Am, and my car all have the same shifter!

Yeh, Melt I still have my "Type-R" short shifter in the bumblebee. I think that i got it from www.autodynamic.com (their shipping takes fucken forever tho). I got it for around $20......for what I paid I like it. I hate the fucken transmission that it's hooked up to, tho Like mellowboy said, DC, skunk2, or B&M.....you'll definately get a shorter throw w/ one of those name brands. I'm just a cheap-ass bastard and wanted a shorter throw than stock....plus that little "Type-R" decal on the shifter that the shift boot is covering is just so cooool

Does anyone recommend getting the bearing along with the short shifter? My shifter goes real far to either side and i dunno if just new bushings will fix that. I just ordered some so we'll see how they work.

cutting the top of your shifter off actually makes your throw longer because you have less leverage. a short throw shifter is longer under the pivot point, not shorter above the pivot point.

if you want to be ghetto and actually have a real short throw shifter, take your stock shifter and cut it in half below the pivot point. then weld in something to extend the bottom half (i've found that a 1/2" socket works pretty well heh). tada, with this method you can make your throw as short as you want but it will wear more on the tranny.

I agree. Its that ball joint that makes the difference not the length of the stick.
