Re: anybody ever heard of this?

Dont sweat it custom exhaust is not a bad option, i bought the dual tip exhausts too from ebay, they have a deep tone but really stand out thanks to the straight piping and downpipe, so i can't really say how the mufflers alone sound, but the setup i have now sounds better than a borla catback.

Re: anybody ever heard of this?

yea, im going to use an ek2 DP,high flow cat with stainless steel internals, im probably going to end up using the flowmaster original 40( thier loudest and most aggressive sounding) but i was looking at other muffler options.....

Re: anybody ever heard of this?

I just had my exhaust redone and i couldnt be happier with it. I had the entire exhaust system cut off right behind the cat. converter, then they ran a pipe down and cut a hole in it wheere they ran another pipe out of it then bent them to aim towards where the old tips used to be then put one of those round stainless steel mufflers on the end of each pipe, so I still have the dual look and its still commin from one pipe but it souds A+ mazing. BTW I got a 97 SL i duno if u got a vr4 and what the dif would be if u do but it worked well for me. Were you gonna take the single in dual out and run one pipe from each side of the dual out as exhaust pipes? the shop I took mine to said the 3kgt engines were real tight since the pistons use about 60psi more than regular engines so you would rellly need a mufler on each side or it would sound like a lawn mower/fart can on an old civic. just my two cents

Re: anybody ever heard of this?

well in that case I think the outcome should prove to be about the same. I've never heard it personally, but I do agree that the 3kgt motors are high strung and I believe that a single in dual out muffler wouldn't give you the sound that you're looking for. These kinda look like mine, though mine are shinier and the tips are slightly different. Just put one of these on each side of the exhaust and you'll have one badass sounding car

Re: anybody ever heard of this?

Single in dual out work fine. The reason alot of peoples sound like shit is because they dont keep some sort of resonator in the exhaust. With a resonator it makes a world of difference.

Re: anybody ever heard of this?

No a resonator. TT's dont have resonators as they really dont have a need for them. NA's need them or the exhaust BUZZES
