key fob problem
1996 lesabre key fob does not unlock trunk or doors but does setoff alarm---distance was getting weaker so I put in new battery but no luck---door locks and trunk release work ok from inside car remote buttons---is fob circuit board bad or ???----thanks---getting old and on fixed income--need to save a buck instead of going to gm dealer

It sounds like the keyfob to me. But try programming the remote first by referencing the link below. Select Buick, then LeSabre and 1996 programming instructions. You can get a keyfob on the Internet like from EBay. Last one I got cost me $15.00 for a used but like new OEM GM brand.

Does the GM # on back of fob have to be the same?--found several fobs on ebay for 96 thru 99 but gm #'s differeent, FCC # the same---thanks again
