cyclone has more tq and better gas mileage quicker spool up time on turbo

Re: new 92 eagle talon tsi awd w/cyclone

This is a question I was going to ask. Anyone switch out their intake manifolds with one of these ? I'd really like to hear some feedback on this.

The cyclone butterfly opens at WOT... in the lower RPM bands you have more torque/hp, but it flows similar to a stock manifold at high RPMs... IIRC... check tuners, there are several write ups on them, I'd search, but don't have time...

Re: new 92 eagle talon tsi awd w/cyclone

Unless you have the JDM ecu to control the actuators or something rigged up, it won't work.

Dint JDM ecu came with the car when you bought cyclone engine ? mabe I mix it up with 240sx jdm engine ( ecu alway came with the engine ).

Re: new 92 eagle talon tsi awd w/cyclone

That is incorrect you don't need the jdm ecu im using a rpm activated switch that opens the butterflys at 4100 rpm just like the jdm ecu does. Along with the fprs

There is a large difference acutally i used it with them unhooked and ran it and then hooked it up the spool up time and tq are much better

The butterflys open at 4100 rpms not just at WOT you could be at half and it would still open then. The butterflys stay closed until you have reached 4100. you could set it up to where it opens based on the amount of boost your running but that is not how its supose to work.

I love this thing its great turbo spool is decreased by 500 rpm's at least pending on turbo size I wouldn't reccomend putting it on a fwd due to the increased tq but it was worth the time and research i did to get it to run the way its supose to.

I couldn't think of that word, but I did say ^^. This question has been discussed a trillion times. I think I remember another person on here did the rpm activated switch or something and got it to work and did a write up on it if you want to search.

Re: new 92 eagle talon tsi awd w/cyclone

yeah that was me. i missed that you said rigged whenever i had typed that in. Every time i go somewhere people say its useless without the jdm ecu so its just an automatic thing to type whenever.
