Attn: Jay!
You may be pleased to know I have a spare Honda S2000 kit now!
Perhaps they may be a certain part you would like to do a deal over? Now, how about that RB26DETT???

Very interesting...As for spare RB engines, that may be far from "production." I just got my hands on it yesterday, but I intend to find a way to "copy" it. A long time ago, I used to "clone" parts of action figure toys, but I have yet to see if the quality of the substance I used is up to par. If it isn't, I will start experimenting with resins and epoxies, perhaps even cyanoacrylate. I'm going to start by making rubber molds of the parts. Finding the appropriate material to cast them in after that is the hard part... Not quite the answer you expected, is it? How'd you end up with another S2000 already, anyways?

I pick em up when I can!
This is a future project!(See pic!) Means opening the bonnet, and I know you can do it with 1 kit, but I prefer 2! Went mad and ordered one of those metal engines! ![]() Plus a slight accident with the 3rd brake light! You know how it is! Either way, email your address and I will get this windscreen off to you! You can owe me one!

BTW, I'm going through the instructions of the R33 and the R32, comparing which parts are the same or different. The R32 chassis is barren compared to the R33. The R33 has everythign molded in, while the R32 has all separate parts. So far, I count 14 parts unique to the engine (I think the front drivetrain is the same... will compare later), but it is hard to tell if the front suspentions will be compatible, or if everything needs to be swapped out.
The bad news is the firewall and some engine bay structure has to be scratchbuilt, but it's fairly straightforward... I'll keep you posted.

Me! Lose something! What do you think I am!!!
No, chipped a corner off whilst cleaning it! Grrrrrrrr! A local company has the engine in stock, and you know it would be rude not to! Afterall, the S2000 is a kit I loved doing! Bit like the R34! I have to build the bulkhead too, but if you slap on enough detail, you can hide most of it! (See pic for ideas!) I decided to do the graphics myself, didn't want to cheat and use decals! I am after decals with HKS, Trust, Eibach etc on them though, if you can help?

I recently remembered a highly experimental method for casting in actual plastic. I don't know how it will react with my rubber molds, though. Must get to work.
The RB block itself should be easy enough to duplicate, but the more complex parts like the exhaust manifold and twin turbo assembly are rather delicate... This will be tricky. Quote:

What makes are your superior sponsors? I can't read them!
Good look with that duplicating! |
