Question Olds-2000-Silhoutte-Various lights come on like ABS, Air Bag

Various Lights on my son's car come on. At one time the front lights blinked. The dealer replaced battery (they said had the wrong kind in it) and when that didn't work then they replaced the computer. Most recently, the car wouldn't start until about 4th try. Dealer said it might be a Ground Fault and sent him to specialist who replaced the alternator. The ABS light still comes on.

I don't think so. How do I tell? I saw one post that said you could tell by the number of times it blinks. Is that true? IF so, how?

You need to use a scan tool that can read ABS codes. Some parts stores will do this for free. Call around.

Re: Olds-2000-Silhoutte-Various lights come on like ABS, Air Bag

Could be a bad or intermittent ground. I helped a friend with some very strange symptoms, dome light blinking on and off with the turn signal, right tail light blinking on and off with left turn signal and others. We found a broken ground wire on his right tail lamp assembly. Since his was a cargo van it was pretty easy to spot. On yours I would start with the common ground point in the engine compartment, on the inside of the right fender near the battery. Check that the bolt is tight and the contacts are clean and not corroded, also make sure none have been left disconnected after maintenance.
Check all of the electrical functions, lights with turn signals on and off, does the radio change volume, the instrument lights and dome lights stay the same brightness with the lights and turn signals on/off. Some variation is normal, but not much. Look for all of the problem areas then see if you can find a common failure. If you go to the dealer this will make his work easier(cheaper).
Current flows out from the Battery/Alternator to all of the various instruments, lights, sensors, etc. The return flows back to the Battery via various grounds and wires. If one fails the current will have to find another path and will affect the operation of other circuits.
Good luck
