Re: 1995 wdstar 3.8 pass. side pwr wndw.
Your message was hard to read, it makes it easier to understand with less abbreviations. Anyhow what voltages are you getting at the switch? When you cut the wiring harness and reconnected the wires, did you use wire caps to put the wires back together or did you solder them back together. I am wondering if one of the ground wires might be loose or disconnected.
Also did you say the window wouldn't budge manually? I would try to find what is binding the glass first. Sorry about all the questions back, but I ran into this same exat issue on my '98 and after taking all my voltages from the fuse box to the switch I was able to trouble shoot that it was my regulator in the power window motor causing the issue. |

Re: 1995 wdstar 3.8 pass. side pwr wndw.
I have pictures posted that show the power window motor with gear unit replacement.
You will not be able to manually push the window up.....as the gear teeth on the window regulator (which is basically the same as what would connect to the manual window crank) are connected to the gear reduction unit on the power window motor. Troubleshooting to determine what the problem is will involve voltage measurements to determine if the voltage is being delivered to the motor when you toggle a switch.....and if not.....where it is being interrupted. If the voltage is getting to the motor....there could be some restriction in the window regulator (maybe lubrication....or some foreign object......or broken window track) or a weak or defective motor.
