engine wiring harness
What is it about wires that makes them so appetizing to rodents?!?!?
I don't know where to start... a fuel injector wire, the three wires to the Throttle Position Sensor, the bundle of wires to windshield wiper control module, seven ground leads near the intake manifold, a few wires still in the main bundle ( not chewed through, but chewed into)... and those are just the ones I can see. I temporarily jumpered them all and the car still would not start, so there must be some I haven't found. The car is an 87 Nissan Pulsar NX SE, with the CA16DE engine and a manual transmission. Apparently, this combination is a bit of an oddball. Every salvage yard I've visited has the other ones... Alot of the smaller carburetted engine, some of the bigger CA18DE, but slim to none on mine. I've posted elsewhere the story of how I got this car, so I won't go into all of it here... but suffice to say it is very painful to invest hundreds of dollars into a car, and have the car returned to mysteriously non-running condition by f&^#$ rodents. I want to get it fixed up, but I've also contemplated swapping in the CA18DET engine with a new harness... which would solve all of my current issues (albeit making traction a bit of one) but I'm not there yet in the finances... Anyhoo... What do you guys think?

Re: engine wiring harness
It runs!!!! A combination of factors, it seems, were conspiring against me... but I have prevailed. I hate how absurdly complicated this harness is, but I've pieced it together again, best I can, and today the car moved under its own power, into the garage. Much to do before I can drive it daily again, but I am uber-stoked to have it running again!
