Swapping the 3pc spoiler for the turbo spoiler.

Well I got the right and the left pieces off, and welded the Holes. My question is, How exactly do I get the middle piece of the spoiler off, and will the Turbo spoiler fit in the same holes left from the non turbo spoiler??? I know for sure that I'll have to weld up the middle hole(s)

Re: Swapping the 3pc spoiler for the turbo spoiler.

You have to pull off the inside plastic panel on the hatch to expose the bolts for the "center" wing piece. And I'm 99% sure that the holes will not line up. You'll just have to do some measurements and markings to figure out the holes for the turbo spoiler.

Re: Swapping the 3pc spoiler for the turbo spoiler.

The holes don't line up. You have to drill new holes. But the new spoiler will cover the side holes (on the main trunk/hatch) of the old 3p/c so your patch job doesn't have to be as good. You do have to patch the center hole and also all those on the side pieces (but you already knew that).

It's not a terrible job. I took care of it in about a day. But I did some crappy bondo work and it's not as flat as I'd like so I have to go and resand :/

Re: Swapping the 3pc spoiler for the turbo spoiler.

Thanks for the responces.... I welded up all the side holes already. I'm debating on wheter to get the turbo spoiler, or just go without a spoiler all together.

Wingless looks sexy, it's very smooth and sleek. The turbo spoiler is also sexy too though, it gives it that "get out of my way or I'll run you over" look. Either way, you've upgraded by taking off that gay 3-piece wing.

The Turbo spoiler looks cool, but it's only cool when they're on Turbo cars. IMO putting the Turbo spoiler on a non-turbo Eclipse or Talon is kinda rice, I mean it's just as bad as some asshole putting Type-R vinyl decals on their 4-door Integra. Just my

I used to like it too, but there are sooo many damn cars that have it I got sick of looking at it. I like wingless or high-rise turbo style. Wingless looks sleek, turbo wing looks badass and says "I'm gonna rape you on the streets."

What about those that came with the turbo spoiler stock, but were N/A? You can't hold that against them. Me, for instance lol . Plus, it just looks so good you can't hate on the turbo spoiler for any reason.

I guess not. But hey don't get me wrong, I love the Turbo spoiler, I just think it looks better and makes more sense on Turbo'd cars.

Hey, I like the 3 piece wing.
I know this thread it old, but i'm the thread starter so aren't I allowed to bring it back (or is that a different forum).. For some reason, last week I remembered making this tread and someone posting this comment. No offense but that has to be one of the dumbest thangs I have ever heard. How can a non fuctional add on part on a car be restricted to a certain car based on the engine it has. The spoiler serves no purpose but a exterior decoration for the higher end model eclipse. I mean its sole purpose was basically a selling tool by Mitsubishi. Sorry I had to bring this tread back, but you gotta admit that I have a point.
