New Engine HELP!!

I don't know much about cars at the moment, gonna go to school for automotive after i finish my last yr of highschool. I was wondering my 99 eclipse RS has around 125k miles on it and i love the car put alot of body works into it, body kit, rims and such and i seen some post about engine swapping, so i was wondering what engines could i get that would be decent to street race with and just a good engine to drive everyday with and that can get turbo. -thanks

Re: New Engine HELP!!

Your 420a engine unfortunately is too hard to swap for the 4G63. But there are turbo systems you can apply to your engine. It all comes down to money. For a relatively small amount, you could get an exhaust system and cold air intake and perhaps a wet nitrous system. That would probably keep you happy. If you have it stuck in your head that you need to go faster you should really sell the car and go to a turbo AWD.

Re: New Engine HELP!!

well with my engine having 125k miles on it, would it be smart to put a turbo on it?

When turboing a motor, the life expectancy goes down dramatically. You probably wouldn't get more than 20-30k more out of it if you did unless you did a few internal upgrades to handle the boost.

Re: New Engine HELP!!

How Much does a brand new 420a engine cost? cause if its cheap ill buy that then hook a turbo up to it, unless the stuff you rebuild inside isnt to bad to handle the boost, also a decent site that sells turbos be nice - thanks
