Code keeps coming up...

PO141 I believe. Well, its the 2nd oxygen sensor. My guess is that its not far enough in the pipe being its 2 1/4" piping and its not getting a good enough reading. What do you guys think?

Re: Code keeps coming up...

Should i just take a hammer to the inlet where the sensor goes in, so its farther in the pipe for a better reading? Please help.

Re: Code keeps coming up...

The sensor really only has to have about 3/8" into the pipe to get a good sample. What is the actual mV output of the sensor (metered directly at the sensor) with a hot/running engine?

Re: Code keeps coming up...

I dont know what the actual mV output is. How would I find this?

the actual definition is...
O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

Is this actually something different then im thinking?

Re: Code keeps coming up...

You will need a digital voltmeter to read the voltage off the sensor. The post cat sensor should be reading less than 450 millivolts and switching very slowly. Here's an in-depth article on O2 sensors if you need more information. http://free-auto-repair-advice.blogs...what-they.html

Re: Code keeps coming up...

ok, so by reading that, I got 2 things. Either the cat is shot or the sensor is bad. But the check engine light just came on shortly after I replaced the whole exhaust. Therefore, it worked before with the old exhaust, so why wouldnt it work now? And then, why would the cat be shot already? Its brand new.
