tagplate

My name is Ronald and i own a Riviera 1964:
i have some question about the vinplate,
it shows:
1. colourcode AA (i only could find colourcode A in the books)

2. it shows allso: acc.XT4F (nearly on the bottom of the plate)

3. on the bottom of the plate is printed:
this car is finished with
magic mirror agrylic laquer
body by fisher

the car shows inside:built expressly for Roger D. Beck

I would be happy if you'll could explain to me what this means.

thanks Ronald

Re: tagplate

Welcome to AF. As it says Acrlylic lacquer, no longer used. You can look up old GM paint codes by using Google. AA usually means the top and bottom were the same color. Where does it say specially made?

Re: tagplate

The owner had that personalized plate made up after the sale. Good year, 64, first for the Turbo 400, instead of the Dynaflow. I am in the process of negotiating for one right now, but it needs a lot of work.

I've seen those advertised in the old J C Whitney catalogs in the past. Not sure if they still offer them, but it's an interesting, unique way to personalize your vehicle, especially if you are the original owner, or have put it through a major restoration. (Actually I remember seeing a specific plate for that,"Restored by:___".)
