removing & replacing rt side mirror
Hi: I have a 2000 Alero with a broken passenger side mirror. The glass and the black panel it mounts to is gone. The guts inside seem to be ok. I have purchased a complete power mirror assembly from a junk yard, but it is a differnt color, and I cannot figure how to get the darn mirror out of the housing.. I want to take off the mirror to paint the housing... OR put it on the housing already on the car.
How is it done? HEEELP! |

Re: removing & replacing rt side mirror
Welcome to AF.
You cant do that unless you break the mirror out. Its mounting screws are behind the mirror and are not realy accessable. You'd be better off just painting the housing on the used one. All you need to do is mask over the mirror with tape, clean and lightly sand housing, then paint. piece of cake !
