1968 Camaro Or 2001 Mustang GT

Ok so i have a 2001 Mustang GT but some guy at work is selling a

1968 camaro with a 350 and heres the problems w/it :
Transmission has a leak (we dont know why), the AC needs some work (dont no what), theres a rip in the front drivers seat (its leather), theres some dents in the rear passenger side quarter pannel, ...ok good things about it its got a 2-gear powerglide tranny, it sounds and looks VERY VERY NICE (blue w/ white stripes), and....well hell its a camaro

2001 Mustang Gt :
Good things....Leather, 5 speed, no problems w/ the engine or any thing else
bad things.... everyone has it, seriously im driving around and i see 10 other mustangs within 20 seconds

so the big question is
WHICH ONE ??????

Well how much does he want for the camaro..the same as what the mustang is worth? Mustangs are very common..atleast the newer ones are.

Re: 1968 Camaro Or 2001 Mustang GT

hmm no way you can keep both? well, if anything if everything on the car is original and its in good shape, look at it this way..

your mustang will keep on depreciating until mayyyybe 2050 or so, when it gets rare.. where as the camaro (IF it truely is all stock, pretty straight, spend a couple g's on resto) will continue to gain value.

that said, i dont think youd like the 68 maro with a 2 speed as a daily driver...

Thats easy, the Camaro. If you have the chance snatch it up. Most ar owned by people who will not ever sell it and when they die, It becomes the casket.

wow that a good one...u have a newer faster car, and a older collectors type car...u really should keep them both if thats a choice. i wouldnt want to drive that camaro every day u know..as for the problem...u could get the seat redone, u could get a rebuilt tranny, and the side u can get fixed, so no big problems

I'd take the 68 Camaro anyday, but you will probably want something else as a daily driver.

Re: 1968 Camaro Or 2001 Mustang GT

The thing to concider:

How much road time will you put the Camaro through?

A solid first gen f-body is becoming increasingly harder to come across, let alone one in running order. some folks fight over a semi-solid shell (roller) at times.

So I would definately not be using it as a daily driver, and surely not as a trailor queen either because...............well, it's a Camaro

i w/o a doubt would be jumping on that camaro, transmission problems on those are a cheap/easy fix, and those old camaros are just flat out nice
