replacing a starter on a 95 c1500 4.3 5 speed

starter isnt workin right, need to replace but there is a metal line in the way of getting the starter out, i think its the line for the clutch slave cylinder. i do not want to take off the line because it is so rusty and i fear it will leak and also need replacing, im hoping theres an easier way... thanks
