My New Bored/Stroked 7-bolt QUESTIONS...

Well I finally blew my bottom end a month or so ago with my new built head on. So of course I went big. Extreme motorsports is working on my car and it should be done shortly but, I have a few questions. I went with:
Eagle 100mm crankshaft
Manly Forged I-Beam rods "turbo tuff design"
Arias pistons .866 pin, 3.366" (.020") with L2 pins
and of course a bunch of other goodies I'm not going to list right now.

I'm keeping my 7 bolt bottom end just boring and stroking it. First question. I have heard a few rumors about arias pistons both good and bad. Any input on them? What kind of hp are the manly rods going to hold for? Shaun at extreme motorsports says the bottom end should be good for 800-900hp but, I always thought the manly rods were not that strong for that high of hp.

With this motor and my current setup I'm hoping for 400awhp on pump and 450awhp on race. Big problem here, Stock clutch and half stock tranny. My tranny was rebuilt with GVR4 internals(not sure if they are stronger though). Should I keep my boost down a bit before I get my shep tranny done? How well would the tranny fair with a nice ACT clutch? Remember here I'm deffinatly not going to be launching the car with this tranny/clutch but, would I even be able to get some nice pulls without my tranny guts all over the road?

As always, thanks for the help guys.

Tranny should survive, especially with a stock clutch. GVR4 input shaft is a bit weaker than the DSM parts, I've heard it refered to as being made out of glass. Shep steered me away from it years back when I was looking for a taller first gear for the strocker and huge turbo combos (never saw full boost in first, went by too quick with not enough load).

Re: My New Bored/Stroked 7-bolt QUESTIONS...

Thanks Kevin. Oh great a "glass" input shaft haha. My original plan was to keep the stock clutch with the stock tranny so that the clutch would go before the tranny. I just hope the clutch doesn't slip toooo horribly bad. Thanks again.
