2002 Elantra clutch/tranny issue
Standard transmission. Problem: when shifting into second gear, it grinds a little. Not a tremendous amount, but enough to notice. The only way to prevent it is to let the RPM's idle down for a few seconds before shifting into 2nd. My questions are: why only in second, and is it a transmission or clutch issue?

Re: 2002 Elantra clutch/tranny issue
Could just be an issue with the shift linkage. My Tib had similar issues right from the start, until I swapped out the bushings. If you want to give it a try I'd go with these:
