factory amp?

does a 99 malibu ls have a factory amp i found something under the pasanger seat and i think it is the factory amp but i dont want to through all the trouble of pulling the seat and the carpet on that side if it is not the factory amp any advice would be appreciated at this point thanks

Just wanted to quickly throw that out there for the safety of everyone before I went to bed.

In response to the actual question, my 99 has (had) the premium system with the cd and remote cassette players but no external amplifier. I think they started doing that later on.
