Just got my KA models stuff from Mediamix Hobby

Yesterday, my KA models order from Mediamix Hobby arrived. I got the
  • KA-Models 1/24 Ferrari 599 GTB Detail-up set

  • KA-Models 1/24 Ferrari F430 Challenge Decal 002

  • KA-Models 1/24 Ferrari F430 Challenge Decal 001

Only sad thing on 599 set is the brake cooling holes don't go all the way through. But, think Crazy Modeler level quality and you're there.

Still waiting on TSMD29003 Top Studio 1/20 Ferrari F1-2000 super detail set. You should the detail with this set!!!

If you haven't used Mediamix yet, look them up. I've ordered from them for items I can't find elsewhere.

Mediamix is right there with Hiroboy and Stradasports in getting great service and great product mix.

Could anyone please post some more pics of the 599 GTB Detail-up set. Maybe where the half of pe-parts isnīt covered and you can see which resin parts are included? Iīm not sure, if itīs worth the money, either.

Re: Just got my KA models stuff from Mediamix Hobby

Hey mate,

Any ideas if this 599 GTB detailed up set will work for the Revell kits ? I have 2 599GTBs Fujimis but they don't have any engine detail - so I might be looking to buy a revell one... What u recon ?

Thx

Haven't yet looked in detail as I've been busy this week. A quick check of the parts against the Revell kit, though, look promising.

This kit is oriented to the Fujimi and there are no engine details on the PE fret. I'm planning on doing a full detailed 599 with engine. Haven't decided on whether straight with the Revell kit or merge the best pieces of the Revell and Fujimi.

As Auw12 ponted out in his excellent summary, the Revell engine airboxes need to be corrected in any case.

Re: Just got my KA models stuff from Mediamix Hobby

Thanks for the great info Gerry... My only concern with the revell kit is that the bonnet of the car will not be flush with the body I think... this was the same problem in the 612 ... Any ideas how this can be corrected?

Thx

Haven't looked into it yet. My 612 hood is flush without hinging and I don't have the warped chassis others reported. I'll post what I know when I do look at in more detail.
