I can dig out the wiring diagram for a P11 Primera if that is any good? I've got a horrible feeling that the wiring was changed though between pre-98 and post-98 ECUs...

Let me know if you want it and I'll scan it in for you

Luke- I was just about to post this info - here I'm going to guess you've got one harness that may not mate up and one that's extra? Its for some wierdo emissions stuff, this is what I figured out for my swap project maybe it might help?

http://www.chrisstorer.com/turbo

Theres a htm file with some wire colors and what they do.

May want to pick up a haynes book - its the only thing thats good for lol.... even my 2 FSM's (for a 98 200 my sis has now and my 97 fsm don't have wiring diagrams like haynes)

Best of luck luke.

Chris

No - to the best of my knowledge, all P11 SR20De ECU's are the same. The P11 GT (with a SR20DE) has a ECU with different mappings, but the connectors etc are identical.

I think the difference that G22DET is talking about is between a OBD-I and OBD-II ECU. The later OBD-II ECU monitors more things, and will usually give a "Engine check" (MIL) light when you do extreme things like turbo'ing, whereas a OBD-I won't.

The OBD-I ECU's were on the early P10 Primeras, whereas the later P10 and all P11 Primera's have OBD-II ECU's.

Sorry b-b00gie - I was replying to Neil's question relating to European P11 Primeras, and whether the ECU's changed through the years. Should have made it a little clearer what the hell I was blabbering on about :o

Not sure why you would prefer the 99... you mean the ECU or the car in general??

with the 2000+ ECU's there's no reset screw which is the only drawback...

As far as 99 vs 00+ G20's (based on stock form) I'd say 00+ all the way!!!

The 00+ are faster off the line do to improved gearing. They have 5 more ponies stock (big deal, but hey..) The roller rocker cams are also arguabley better. Also the MAF is bigger.. Not to mention the trunk release is now on the dash, waahoo!!!
