wastegate and boost control

i was wondeirng how do i set a wastegate setting lower?
is it just a change of spring?
also can a manual boost control actualy control the boost i want?
and is there a way of manual controling the wastegate?

There are different springs you can get for the external wastegates if you want to run lower boost than the boost controller will actually go... Although I'm not sure where you actually buy them at. I think you have to get them from the maker of whatever brand wastegate you have...

1) wastegate can be set for lower pressure with a lighter $20.00 spring, or an added spring in the other direction (home depo mod= $0.75)

2) Manual Boost Controller (MBC) CAN actually control the boost you want, its wonderful!

3)the way of manual control for the wastegate would be the same thing as controlling your boost levels, which ironically is done the same way, With a MBC!

Two points worth mentioning are that the MBC can never set boost lower than the WG spring pressure, and using a spring that is less than half the boost you intend to run can cause erratic boost problems (at least at higher pressures, like 25 psi up).

This I'm guessing happens all the time, but is only more prominent at the higher boost. Almost all the manufacturers I've seen that make WGs (except for eBay brands) had other springs that you can buy that offer lower adjustments. They are cheap, and it's just easier to go straight through the manufacturer. I would also only trust going that route because these springs are made specifically for the WGs and that specific boost. Seems just like the best way to go.
