A/C different temps at different vents
I have a 2002. Replaced the condenser with the leak at the lower passenger side bracket (go figure) last winter. Had to top of the r134a today and the leftmost two vents blow warmer than the center vent and the passenger vents (no rear air). cabin filters were pulled many moons ago. hissing sound from inside the dash went away once I got the refrigerant back up to pressure, but still there is a temp differential in the vents. what's up with that? any ideas are appreciated. btw 168k and already paid to see a few of the venture weak spots (condenser, intake gasket, frumpy rear drums making me chew up rotors). still love my venture.

Sorry I cant help...yet anyway
Just noticed mine doing the same thing yesterday and am planning on pulling it apart this weekend. Will let you know what/if I find anything. Well Joel I just replaced my compressor and all is right with the world. Ac wise anyway. I assume the old compressor didnt develop enough pressure/vacuum. The stop leak crap and who knows what kind of oil in the kits there will stop your system for sure. Just like pouring super glue in it. And some kits even contain freon with a butane mixer. But over the years just adding freon is getting harder to do. Newer systems have to have the correct amount of freon down to the ounces. Most will need pumped down and vacuumed down and the right and amount of oil and a set amount freon charge installed to get the air to cool right and the system to last. If an air condition is low there is usually a leak that needs fixed and also a lose of lubricating oil from system. Also air and moisture enters a low system If you are going to try to do it get the proper type air condition gauge set with the low and high side gauges. Hook up the gauges and get a reading with compressor running at idle and at 2000 rpm on the high and low side. Post back pressure reading and we can help you. MT

Hey! My 1999 Venture is now "warm" on the driver side and "cold" on the passenger side. Both of the filters are clean, and I do get air pressure out of both sides (just different temperature). It may be my imagination, but it seems like the left side is not only warm, but also not as much air flow.
Anyone ever figure out what this problem was? It's May29th so I sure would like to get my AC back before it gets hot!!! Thanks for any help or suggestions!! Ed |
