Hi folks,
As you can see from my details, I live in frosty Norge. Where, although the most recent snow has melted (gonna come back soon though and not go away again until April 'ish') and the sun is shining, it's still damn cold!! As I have to spray in the little shed outside, I was wondering if any of you other guys have similar conditions and whether it is possible to run out, spray and run back in with my models, or does the paint start freezing before it hits the car?? Don't want to ruin any, would rather stockpile bodies ready for painting until spring. Oh, by the way, I use auto paint. Thanks experts.... |

Hi-
Is there enough room for a heat lamp in your shed?? If so I would recomend you put one in there and warm it up in there before you spray your bodies. Then keep them in there for a good hour before bringing them out in the cold. Of course you should experment with this since the cold might just crack the paint after its been under the heat lamp. Or try to paint in your house with the window open and a fan blowing. at least then you dont have to run out to a shed!! :frog: Scott

Additional to what sugarcaddy sugested, if you use an airbrush and you use glass spray cans, you can prepare your paint (inclusive thinner) and heat the whole thing above, what we call, a thea-light. So that your paint is warm when it goes through the airbrush.

If I have to paint when it's cold I paint on my back porch with the door open. And then as soon as I spray I rush back in and set it on the open door of my oven. We're going to have a storage shed built this month though, so I'll probably bring a little heater out there and paint this winter.
