Wire that's hot when engine is cranked?

I installed a Motorola hands free kit for my cell phone and it has a wire that is supposed to be hooked to a power source that is hot when the key is turned on and stays hot when the engine is cranking. I guess it is supposed to be hooked up that way so that you don't lose a call when you start the car. Most accessories that are hot when the key is turned on, turn off momentarily when the engine is cranking. I had the same problem hooking up the fuel pump for a fuel injection conversion kit on a Jeep, and ended up just using a toggle switch. I'd rather do a more professional installation on the Xterra. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the right wire?

Fuel Pump fuse

You'll want to use this fuse, which is under your dash. I used it for Coolerman's CIBS and it works the way it is supposed to!

"Locate a fuse that is hot ONLY WHEN THE KEY IS ON AND THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING!!! Do not use the ignition fuse! The Fuel Pump fuse is a good one to use."

That is a quote out of his CIBS installation.

In addition to using the fuel pump fuse, I highly recommend that you spend a few bucks and get a fuse insert that has a lead hookup on it and extra fuse spot. I don't know what they are called but basically it slipss into the fuse spot and then has one fuse for your fuel pump still and an extra fuse for your acessory and a place to attach the wire. Make sense? Much safer and better way than just sticking your wire in there and shoving the fuse in on top of it...BAD!
