I hear you loud and clear (thanks to a lack of alcohol in my system).I't's been 10 months since I first had show Jack the door,at the time it was like losing an arm.The strange thing is,I don't really miss it that much any more, and now I don't bother, even though I COULD if I wanted to.

I'm really sorry if I'm an idiot but did you just say you lost an arm and that you miss it or do you miss Jack Daniels? I just got so confused,

I don't drink a lot anyways, but I always drink on New Years!!!

I've almost died several times from drinking...assloads of drinking. Only spewed once though, I'm good at keepin it in..

Yah...soo....some people drinking is fine, but fuck man, some people use it as an excuse to get layed acting like their a good person even if they cheated or got someone arrested for rape when they KNEW it would happen

or people getting drunk when they know they get into a flaming asshole who fights and attacks people who cant defend themselves

or people who know they are going to drive, or play with a gun or something

That's true Terminal and that's horrible but that's like extreme drinking, I was talking about drinking to get happy and maybe a little more loose.

Although Australians are renowned drinkers, I've been increasingly surprised to find more guys and girls in my age group (25-35yr olds in and outside of work) prefer not to drink, but rather take other stuff instead. I'm not talking needles btw! Not the hard stuff.

I must admit, I am one of them - purely for the fact that although I'm NOT an 'aggressive drunk', but a 'happy/sleepy drunk' - I can be more in control, (stay awake longer!) and enjoy going out with friends without any agro. And I have noticed I save money !! No more Mr Moneybags

I'm not saying 'don't drink' by any means (I drink occasionally) - just trying to reinforce the idea that most things should be in moderation - and unfortunately - a minority of drinkers let their drinking affect others - more often than not those closest to them - which is so unfair and selfish.

From working in a bar, I've seen too many bad/ugly situations from idiots that are too drunk.

I'm not advocating anything (my choice alone) - just seems strange to me sometimes that people look down on those that take stuff, but we're not the ones throwing-up with our heads in the toilet or sporting a black eye from a drunken fight. Sydney police seem to recognise this and have been going easy on clubbers for years, as they know there will be less trouble for them than at a pub selling $2 drinks.

No solutions - just the world we live in.

I agree with you on the substitution but everything is bad in excess. Drinking is not a problem in moderation, just like the "other stuff" as well. I just can't stand when people overdo it and become stupid.
