Too Much water = no shine????

Yes, its that time of teh month that the Sentra needs its full hand detail. its currently outside in the garage allowing the wax to settle.

I did the following steps:
1.greased lightining the tires for pre shine
2.and used megs hot tire shine for the tires
3.megs all wheel cleaner for the wheels.
4.wash with megs gold class
5.wax with meg's #26 hi tech yellow wax
6.windows with stoner invisible glass

no need to clay as i clayed 2 weeks ago.

Here come the pics:

but this has to be the stupidest statement i've heard from a long time.

pissed off neighbor : (from down the street) You Using too much water!!!

me : ignoring it, and continue drying

pissed off neighbor(drives over in truck) : Did you hear me?? You puttin too much water on that paint. It's not going to get any cleaner!!

me : you think so?

pissed off neighbor(still in truck) : yea

--then he drives away somewhere....lol

all my neighbors seem to be envious of my car and my parents cars since i'll fully detail them once a month, and will wash them every weekend. they look better than new as well.

and here is a teaser pic

Re: Too Much water = no shine????

Nice.
With the weather how it is right now down here, I might think about putting some effort and detailing my car, too...
I usually just clean it ever weekend, but nothing too crazy... Just the regular wash/rinse/dry - repeat...

We'll see how this weekend turns out, maybe I'm going to detail mine after all...

Re: Too Much water = no shine????

Wow you have a lot of cleaning crap. Car looks great! Did you take every wheel off and clean them by hand? Thats what I do when I really detail my car, including taking the seats out and scrubbing the carpet. Nextime I'm going to have a professional carpet cleaner come in just to make it extra nice.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with keeping my car clean was at my last appartment compex. For some reason the owners of the land behind us decided to have tons of dirt and rock removed from his property. They threw up so much dust it was impossable to keep the car clean. I would wash and within 5 minutes it would need another cleaning. For 3 months this went on. I just gave up.

We have since moved but now I dont have time to detail the car. I really wish I could. The picture in my signiture was the last time I really detailed the whole thing. Sad that that was last summer.

Oh and your neighbor sounds like a moron!

Hey Chiquae, the Sentra looks good.
That "teaser" picture... are those the rims you'll be putting on your car soon?

Re: Too Much water = no shine????

i hate you luos... just because i dont have a black car to keep on investing more and more cleaning supplies. i swear its a hobby. too bad almost all my paycheck goes to bills, with my horrible job that pays squat. otherwise, id prob have a pc buffer and the whole works, and a car w/o any scratches at all . but for the first time i saw a black car detailed to the max, it was amazing. i was looking all over for swirls or something else, but there was non visable. i basically stared at it, and i wanted black paint since then.

we dont need water conservation here, as we get our water filtered from lake michigan, as dirty as that lake is.

and yes, that teaser pic is rims going onto the car soon, as soon as i can get some cash. need a new damn job right before college hits, so i can somewhat survive and have fun. think i might just use that unlimited visa card from the college for my tires lol.
