Re: I need more motivation.

you know what, buid youself to a nice atheltic frame with ~10% or so body fat and stay there.

Competition bodybuilding that seems to interest you takes far too much time and dedication and its pushed to such an extereme that you end up making a healthy lifting activity into a unheatly one.

Plus i don't even think you realise how hard it is to reach the 3% or so bodyfat required for serious competition. You'll starve youself worse that those super skinny models. Oh and lets not forget that you'll have to display youself in fron of a crowd wearing only speedos

Re: I need more motivation.

i dont know if u need to take protein, you can get plenty strong without it. ive never really taken anything myself. i knew a guy though that took something called glutamin, it makes your muscles recover faster. that might be helpful to you. as far as motivation goes... idk what to tell ya, ive always enjoyed working out so i didnt need motivation.

Re: I need more motivation.

yea, protein and glutamine-L. i personally take protein since my family likes to eat greasy foods and such. most of the foods i even refuse to eat. they wonder why my brother isnt overweight since his matabalism is faster than erones elses, and i have normal matabolism. so thats y i take in protein, because the lack of foods for it in low calorie form. im not aiming for that low of BF, but like 10-9% would be great. i am a mesomorph apparently, and puttin on muscle isnt hard for me. i enjoy working out yes, but now all of my workouts are intense, since doing them not intenstly as i am now has gotten me a little strength, but not much. competing all natural amatur, is about 7% BF i believe.

Re: I need more motivation.

wait, is this for football or just fun? so you want to compete in body building? or compete as in football? you're still planning to play football right? well, if you're still in football, my advice is to just follow what your coaches had set up for you, the lifts you guys do will be more towards althetic performance and will help a lot in football. And if after your senior year you wanna go into body building competition, then you can start 'lifting for looks'

Re: I need more motivation.

180g's is not enough ... im only 17 and when I used to train I took in 400g's of protein 500g's of carbs and 150g's of fat ... you need high intakes for your muscles and when you cut well decide how you wanna do it. Also make sure you get 1.5 to 2 gallons of water a day. for a good quick growth take Creatine its gonna put water in your muscles and as you train your muscles will grow and then the water will remove and you wont lose size.

Since you wanna compete to get a good placing you will need to bring down your bodyfat around 2-3%

Yeah, creatine is some nasty stuff. You shouldn't use that.

Re: I need more motivation.

The most important thing in bodybuilding is your diet(besides your workout), weightlifting has been like my life for the past 4 years, its a love hate relationship now. but in order to get big you must eat ALOT you should eat like 200g's of protein a day in sessions of 30-40g at a time because your body can only absorb that much in one sitting, and get plenty of carbs and a good amount of fat this will all help alot to increase muscle, besides that have a good workout routine and change your routines up every 8 weeks because your body gets used to it fast and will not grow so you always have to change it up.

umm... no

that stuff that killed those guys was called Ephedra. it is contained in stacker pills for one. idk if its in creatine or not though.

besides, creatine is for pussies IMO. i kinda hinted at it before, but im a believer in being all natural. i didnt take shit and whats funny is i was one of the 5 strongest people in highschool when over half the football team was on protein and that shit. but, i have no problem with going home and eating red meat all the time, thats what i eat almost every day anyway, regardless of whether im working out or not.

I don't know if the video in this link is motivational or anti-motivational but here's what you'll be competing against. NSFW (porno ads and such...)

Re: I need more motivation.

Creatine is definitely not illegal, they sell it at walmart, walgreens etc. Ephedra is different than creatine. I believe ephedra does more for cutting out body fat whereas creatine is for adding water to muscle tissue to make it swell. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

Everybody is motivated in different ways, so what works for one guy may not work for the next. You kinda gotta find your own motivation imo. As for me, I get my best workouts when I have my music with a certain playlist.

One question though that no one has asked... Why is this in the Non-Spec Racing forum

im pretty sure your right on your assesment of teh drugs. ephedra is for weight loss, it speeds up your heart rate and is extremely dangerous. creatine is for bulking. creatine can be dangerous to though if you dont drink plenty of water.

for me when i worked out the best workouts were when i was listening to metallica and i was with some other strong guys who would get pumped up as hell. passing by those people who are screaming in the weight room look like idiots, but that really does motivate. at least it did for me.

about the thing about the non specific racing forum... we who post here regularly post pretty much anything in here...
