HELP!! 95 gst stumble problem after warming up

My buddy has a 95 gst with 16g and a jspec motor, its been to 2 mechanics and they have both came up with no ideas. when you first get in the car and drive its fine no problems, it seems that once the car warms up it starts to miss real bad and then it shuts off, if you let it just idle from start up it will shut off right around the 25 min mark, any suggestions??

Parts that have been replaced
Crank trigger
all 02 sensors
Coils packs
plugs and wires
Ecu recapped and socketed
Fuel filter
it holds 45psi of fuel pressure until it shuts off (so prolly not fuel pump)

We are going to need a lot more information to be able to help you. Do you have a logger? I see you are running a 16g, can you give us a complete list of the vehicles mods? Is there a CEL?

Re: HELP!! 95 gst stumble problem after warming up

It could be a lot of things, but let's start with the easy stuff. What plugs did you use and what did you gap them at?

Other things that can cause the RM CEL are a bad fuel injector, cooked exhaust valve, clogged cat, stuck EGR, timing off, etc.

Regap the plugs to 0.028". You aren't using platinum or iridium plugs are you? If so, go to the store and get regular old copper NGK's.

yeah i will tell him to do that, i understand that wrong plug gap may throw a misfire under boost but i know thats not the reason why the car is shuting off at idle when it gets warm

yeah i got you, i appreciate the help alot... it just seems that everywhere my friend taked this car nobody can figure it out, the list of things he has replaced just keeps getting bigger, we have completely replaced everything that has to do with spark, coil packs, plugs, wires, crank sensor, cam sensor, on the fuel side we have put in a new filter, i believe the pump is fine seeing it hold pressure even when it shuts off.. the timing has been checked it is also great, the 02 sensors have been replaced, the ecu has been replaced, i just cant figure it out, you can drive the car for like 10 min as hard as you want, but as soon as it sees normal running temp the thing just starts bucking and has a horribe miss then it just shuts off, you can get it to start up but the throttle has to be to the floor and the rpms have to constantly be above 2000 for it to still run... just funny how nobody can figure it out!!! lol even the dealership
