SRT-4 question...

My question is simple. Has anyone ever seen an SRT-4 with a single fart can coming out the rear.

The reason I asked is I got behind a Neon the other day and was checking out his fly ass exhaust. I then noticed the SRT-4 badge on it. When the ligh turned green he took off at a normal pace. I kept hearing this hissing noise like BOV or something. Everytime I heard it at everyshift he made it sounded exactly the same.

I ended up beside him and I was feeling in a Musashi mood and I called him out.

"man, whats up with that fake ass turbo"
"huh"
"whats up with that fake ass turbo"
"ok, whatever"

The kight turned green and he took off hard but didnt seem to be going anywhere fast, and again the same exact noise on every shift.

Next light,

Me "laughing hysterically"
him "where were you at"
"I couldnt stop laughing at how slow that POS is"
"oh yeah, well lets go"
"lets hit the interstate to many cops around here"
"what do you think I am"

thats when I noticed he was wearing some kind of uniform. my response to him after his last comment.

"a fake-ass cop driving a fake-ass SRT-4"

He then turned off and I laughed a little more. My question is do you guys no anyone with a single fart can on there SRT-4?

Re: SRT-4 question...

I do not know of anybody but it is possible. I know people have taken TT VR4's and put on a single tipped exhaust because it is more simple, less weight, and still performs better than the stock system. Was the entire car like the SRT-4 such as the front, the wheels, spoiler, etc?

Re: SRT-4 question...

I went down as far as the blue SRT-4 with single exhaust. That looks goo to me. The exhaust on this guys Neon was nowhere like that. It looked like one of those cannons you see on a lot of "ricers" cars. I hate to use that term.

I dont know what they are called but it was one of the that looked like it had a muffled piece on the very tip of the exhaust. Not like a 3" hole but a 3" hole that was tapered to a 1 1/2" hole. Looked like the end of a silencer or something.

On a side not when will Dodge release the Caliber SRT-4. My girlfriend sold her car a couple months ago and she likes the style of the Caliber so I have her waiting to check out the SRT-4 Caliber. If it is around the 28-30k it is a possibility

Re: SRT-4 question...

SRT-4s are 4-bangers, only one set of exhaust manifolds so there is no need for two tail pipes.
The stock system is set up as twin but it dossent have to be. Normally tail pipes shouldnt split cause its just a waste of piping and you loose back preasure. On turbo car no backpreasure=good so yes, an SRT-4 can be modded to use a single exhaust and still perform as well or better.

And to answer your question I know lots of Skittles with only one muffler.
