vs 5 litre ute trouble
i have just recently bought my vs 5.0 mauual ute im getting a clunk when changing gears ,when i put foot on and off the clutch (reverse pretty bad) and also ,when i tap the throtle at any speed .is it diff ,gear box, tail shaft or anything else. Has any one got any ideas i would be greatly thakful.

Diff pinion gears are worn, very common is the V8 utes as they either have no weight in the back or too much weight(overloaded)
Also check the tailshaft universal joints are not worn. Actually, get the uni joints replaced first as they are cheaper and if the diff gears are stuffed, the uni joints are probably stuffed as well. So if you replace the uni joints and the noise is still there, then a new diff can be fitted and know that the uni joints won't let go a few weeks later
