Timing Belt or timing chain?
I recently bought a 2006 Nissan Xterra with the 4.0 liter engine in it. I was just wandering if the 4.0 liter engines had a timing chain or a timing belt? and if the engine is interference or non-interference?
Thanks. Last edited by Keg914; 05-11-2007 at 12:25 PM. |

Re: Timing Belt or timing chain?
Service manual I have says nothing about changing timing belts, so I would assume it's a chain, and probably interference as well.

Re: Timing Belt or timing chain?
05+ is the VQ engine, which has a chain. The previous V6 was the VG, which had a belt.
