Location of torque converter clutch solenoid?
Can anyone tell me where the torque converter clutch solenoid is located and what is involved in replacing it?
I have a 96 Windstar that idles fine in park but stalls as soon as it is put in reverse or drive. It also runs fine when putting the gear selector in 1st or 2nd. I have been told it's probably this solenoid but the guys working on it cannot locate it. Any info would be greatly appreciated! |

Re: Location of torque converter clutch solenoid?
If I understand you correctly:
The torque converter clutch (TCC) and the electronic pressure control (EPC) solenoids ... and (3) additional shift solenoids are all mounted to the main valve body which is under the tranny side pan. I've never worked in this area on my '99, ... and I would be concerned about someone working in this area that did not already know this information. |
