Neon 2000 driving belt tensioner
Hi everybody,
I have 2000 Neon and a week ago I started hearing skweking/grindig sound from the driving belt area. I had the problem diagnosed and they said the noise was coming from the driving belt tensioner. Do you guys know what tool I have to use in order to remove the old tensioner ? It looks there is one bolt only, but you cannot see what it's head looks like, because there is only an inch space between the tensioner and the fender. Thanks |

Re: Neon 2000 driving belt tensioner
My tools include a couple of small mirrors, and a small dental mirror with a long handle. Invaluable for seeing around corners. Also digital cameras can take pictures in places where my head wont fit.
If you plan to change the tensioner yourself, would you also change the timing belt? I got an original Chrysler Corp. manual for my older Neon from ebay. Very worthwhile. |
