Completed 1/12 Tyrrell

As you can tell, I intended to do a WIP post with this project. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos between bodywork and completion. So, anyway, a fun build, not my best effort, but much better than 25 years ago when I built this kit the first time!

Re: Completed 1/12 Tyrrell

Very nice build! Are those photo-etched grills on the radiators?

Re: Completed 1/12 Tyrrell

Cool a 1/12 F1 car. Nice build of a cool kit.

What blue did you use? Did you clear over the decals? How was the fit of the AcuStion photoetch?

Mike.

Re: Completed 1/12 Tyrrell

Blue is a 50/50 mix of Tamiya "blue" and "light blue" decanted and applied with an airbrush. I think in person it makes the perfect Tyrrell blue. Yes, there are a couple coats of clear over the decals, and finally, the photoetch fit pretty good, the wheel nuts did not fit at all. I glued them to the kit supplied nuts.
Thanks for the compliment.

Very nice. I really love the vinatge race cars. You've done a great job building this one.

Superb build! Those early Tyrrells may not have been pretty, but man they were effective in the hands of Sir Jackie and Francois Cevert.
